Memory Basics

Memory is one of the most important parts of a computer. What would happen without it? Frankly, the thought of this happening sends shivers down my spine.
Some basic info that i found put today is that:


-memory refers to computer components, devices and recording media that hold digital data for some period of time.

- provides one of the core functions of the modern computer, that is information maintenance.

-it is used most often to identify fast, temporary forms of storage.

-every time something is loaded or opened, it is placed into RAM. This simply means that it has been put in the computer's temporary storage area so that the CPU can access that information more easily.
